The Auto Cluster Development and Research Institute is an initiative of the Mahratta Chamber of Commerce, Industries, and Agriculture (MCCIA) supported by the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation and the Government of Maharashtra. It was set up under the Industrial Infrastructure Upgradation Scheme (IIUS) of the Industrial Policy and Promotion, Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India.

The Auto Cluster Development and Research Institute is an initiative of MCCIA supported by PCMC and Government of Maharashtra, established under IIUS scheme.

The prime objective of the Auto Cluster is to Support MSMEs in meeting their developmental requirements of Product Development, Quality, Reliability, and Cost competitiveness per OEM expectations. Auto Cluster is a first-of-its-kind industrial cluster established in Chinchwad in 2006-07 and has served more than 2000 MSMEs in and around Pune.

Auto Cluster, Pune, is committed to enhancing the global competitiveness of the auto industry by working together with the industry and promoting innovations, appropriate technologies, and collective learning.

Auto Cluster is equipped with the latest technologies, including prototyping and 3D printing, enabling quick plastic component printing for testing. It is also a NABL-accredited Rubber and Polymer Laboratory used by many automobile and engineering manufacturing companies and their Tier 1 and Tier 2 vendors to test rubber component requirements.

Under the Pimpri Chinchwad Smart City development initiative to support startups in the PCMC area, PC Smart City, Auto Cluster, and MCCIA have established the Pimpri Chinchwad Startup Incubator Centre in the Auto Cluster Premises.

As part of the skill development activities, Auto Cluster has signed MoUs with multiple prominent regional educational institutions to provide students with knowledge of the best industry practices and methods, aided by industry experts.

It is also an NABL accredited Rubber and Polymer Laboratory which is being used by many Automobile and engineering goods manufacturing companies, and its Tire 1, Tire 2 vendors for its testing of rubber components requirements.
Under Pimpri Chinchwad smart city development initiative for supporting the startups in PCMC area, PC smart city, Auto Cluster and MCCIA has established a "Pimpri Chinchwad start-up Incubation center" in Auto Cluster Premises. Currently @13 startups are taking benefit of the same.
Auto Cluster is also famous for its infrastructure facilities, e.g. Exhibition Halls (two halls, each 20000 and 10000 sq.ft. area) and well-equipped Auditorium where @170 sitting capacity.
We have Two large exhibition Halls, in last ten Years, more than 200 Nos of Exhibitions being carried out by different large organizers, IMTMA , ACMA, CII , AGIS, MESSE , for machine tools, auto components, rubber industries, metal industries, Construction companies, Dentist associations, Media companies, and variety of exhibitions carried out which has benefited to MSMEs, society at a large and being used regularly.
I am confident, with enthusiastic team we have in Auto cluster and the support from our Board Members, we will jointly work towards taking the Auto Cluster to new heights, incorporating the necessary changes in culture, systems and matching the Customer expectations, supporting the MSMEs with latest technologies and transforming set up into Excellence Center.
Creating many opportunities for Industry people for learning the advance technologies and also for the young generations, engineering students from various institutions to become ready for industry fit professionals.
Under Skill development activities Auto Cluster is making MoU sign off with various Institutions such as ITI, and Engineering colleges in order to provide the students and graduates industry practices and methods knowledge with the help of Industry experts.
