MECF proposes to set up a Common Facility Centre (CFC) in Pimpri Industrial Area of Pune, Maharashtra. This CFC will have state of the art facilities such as International Accreditation, Expertise, Certification and Equipment as follows:
The SPV proposes a financial model wherein the services of the CFC will be available to the members at a low cost on pay per use model. The non members can also avail the facilities (without the discount given to members). The Promoter Companies will be given concession in terms of discount as well as priority access to the facilities.
Based on the block estimates of various facilities proposed , the final approval received from MeitY ( Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, GoI) in Dec 2017 is Rs 67 crores including pre-operative expenses and building infrastructure. MCCIA will give 2500 sq mt of land in the form of 'grant in aid' to MECF. The industry members contribution should reach Rs. 10.30 crores, following which the Grant in Aid from MeitY, GoI will be Rs. 50.00 Crores. The Financial Assistance from the Maharashtra Government will be Rs. 6.7 crores. The project is envisaged to be completed by 30th March, 2020.
